Three changes served as the backbone for the project:

1. The addition of a mudroom between the house and garage provided a new formal entrance and a much-needed landing place for boots and coats.

2. Relocating the laundry room downstairs allowed for an expanded main-level kitchen that flows easily into the common living space.

3. Finally, excavation around a corner of the lower level allowed for the installation of large windows and a custom desk, turning a dingy basement bedroom into a sunlit corner office overlooking the lake.
